About the artwork
What difference does a year make?
Stockholm actually celebrated 700 years already in 1952, but the Olympics was held in Helsinki that year and the cities didn’t want to compete about the tourists. So Stockholm decided to celebrate the jubilee a year later instead, 1953. And for any jubilee there has to be a poster!
Curt Blixt won the contest with his wonderful “Mälardrottning” and got rewarded with 3000 kr.
