Anno 1862 - Grey Wool Throw Blanket by Kerstin Landstrom
One of the differences between a blanket and a plaid is that the plaid usually has fringes and the blanket has a tab stitch around the edges. My plaids are woven from a mixture of Norwegian organic lamb's wool, merino wool and silk, which makes them extra soft, supple and comfortable to wrap around on the sofa or on chilly summer evenings outside.
The pattern for the ANNO 1862 plaid is inspired by a hand-printed wallpaper from the mid-19th century, found in the village of Smedjebacken in Dalarna. The blanket has a small leather label sewn into one edge and is woven from a mixture of Norwegian lamb's wool, merino wool and silk, which makes the blanket extra soft and flexible.
Material: 75% Norwegian organic lambswool, 15% merino wool and 10% silk
Size: Approximately 130 x 170 cm + fringes or 51" x 67" inches
Care: Wool is dirt-repellent and has a self-cleaning property that means that you should not wash wool products too often or unnecessarily. Wool benefits from frequent airing, preferably in damp weather. The blankets can be washed with wool detergent by hand or on a wool program in a machine at 30 degrees. Squeeze the blanket semi-dry or spin briefly, stretch the blanket and then dry it airily.
Manufacturer: Kerstin Landström Design - founded in 1994 and produces organic wool blankets and throws inspired by Swedish environments, nature and historical heritage.
