A Playful Touch of Nordic Folklore and Humor for Your Tabletop

Durable ceramic coaster with cork backing featuring a tomte and spilled coffee illustration

Protect your tabletop while adding lighthearted Nordic humor to coffee time with this ceramic coaster. Inspired by classic Scandinavian folklore and everyday expressions, the ceramic surface features a bearded tomte dressed in a red cap and traditional winter tunic, holding up the words UFF DA above a tipped-over coffee mug. Fine folk art flourishes and pine accents surround the central scene, making it a cheerful decorative piece for kitchen counters, office desks, or coffee tables.

Features & Benefits

Absorbent Ceramic Construction: Catches water drops and moisture rings from cold drinks and hot mugs before they touch furniture surfaces.
Scratch-Resistant Cork Backing: Full-coverage cork pad on the underside cushions the tile, preventing scratches and slips on wooden, stone, or glass tables.
Folk Art Accent: Detailed Scandinavian illustration combines traditional tomte lore with a familiar regional catchphrase.

Cultural Note

The Tomte (or Nisse) is a solitary, guardian spirit from Scandinavian folklore, traditionally associated with farmsteads and the winter season, known for watching over the home. Combined with "Uff Da," a widely recognized Scandinavian-American exclamation used to express relief, exhaustion, or mild surprise, this piece captures both traditional folklore and lighthearted cultural heritage.
