The Dala Horse, aka Dalahästen, has existed since the 17th century and is the most common symbol of Sweden and Swedish commoner culture. Kurbits painting emerged in Dalarna at the end of the 18th century and was common on both furniture and walls.

The DALARNA wool blanket is inspired by Dala horses, kurbits and the ribbons found on Dalarna's beautiful folk costumes.
