A great read for those wanting to understand the origins and meanings behind the old Norse runes. Explained very well by the Author and the origins, one can't help but feel part of the earthly connection. It's fun to read about the runes and how they came about. This book puts everything in to perspective.

I managed to break the handle off of Grandma's Norwegian prayer mug. My daughter was bummed, because it was from her Grandmother, and because my daughter got up at her Grandma's memorial service and read the prayer, in both English and Norwegian.

Being of Swedish descent, our daughter loved almond cake.She was diagnosed with breast cancer in California. We live on the east coast, as sick as she was, she requested her mother to make almond cake.
