January FIKA by Greta Lann
This is a painting from our first apartment in the suburbs of Stockholm. It was a cozy cold January and I got ready to have someone over for fika. "Fika" is a daily occurrence and a key to the Swedish lifestyle. Roughly translated, it means taking time to have something yummy to eat and drink, often shared with another person. I liked how there was a lot of calming blue, with spots of fun pink. We need fuzzy mittens in Stockholm during the winter!
