I was inspired to paint this image when I was looking at old-fashioned Christmas postcards from Sweden. I used a Norwegian Fjord horse, though, because I think they are so beautiful and have a really gorgeous black stripe in their mane. The background town I created when looking at a Swedish calendar. I decorated the horse in a traditional Swedish painting style.
